There is something very important that I would like to touch on. I know there are a lot of mixed feelings about visiting plantations in the south. These are incredibly historical places that give you the opportunity to educate yourself on the history of the south. They are beautiful places with a deep history built on slavery, racism and oppression. Appreciate the opportunity you are given in these plantations to really take in the reality of what happened there. Learn. Educate yourself. I am not writing on here to preach at anyone, but this is something that I believe everyone should experience and learn from.
